Columbus Women’s Rehab Ministry Campus
“2020 has come with its various challenges, but God has been moving in the midst of it all to bring about life transformation and healing in the lives of the women here.”
1. Student Graduate Testimonies in 2020
Deciding to come to Teen Challenge was the best decision I could have ever made. From the moment I walked in the door, I have had peace and hope. I’m the happiest I have been in so long. I am growing in my walk with the Lord and God is restoring my relationship with my family. It is so beautiful to see God replacing all the brokenness with His love. Teen Challenge has saved my life and I will forever be thankful. I feel that God has called me to the ministry of Teen Challenge so I will be staying on as an intern after I graduate in April. I want to be a light in the darkness and help offer hope to other ladies through the power of Jesus Christ. I want to give back and serve in the ministry that saved me and my soul.
I remember for the first time in a long time asking my family to help me with my addiction, knowing that I can’t do this kind of life and I would do anything different. My grandma got the number to Teen Challenge and within a few days I was packed up heading to Columbus. I didn’t know about God’s grace until I came to Teen Challenge. Now I’m learning a whole new lifestyle and finding that my real purpose of life is to glorify God and to save souls. I am a walking miracle and I’m stopping a generational curse of addiction in my family. I’m getting restoration in every part of my life and my family’s lives, God brought me to Teen Challenge and Teen Challenge is showing me how to grow an intimate relationship with Jesus so that I can be a better mother, daughter, and granddaughter.
As it says in Micah 7:8, “Though I sit in the darkness, the Lord will be my light.” I came into Teen Challenge hating myself, insecure, broken, and empty. My being here has provided an opportunity to renew my passion for art. I have been expressing my heart through these coasters. Painting has always been a passion of mine. But being able to express my heart and give glory to God is a dream.
After not seeing my mother for months, she opened her door and just held me. Before letting me go she said in my ear “We are trying to get you into Teen Challenge” (I already knew about the program) I had felt my knees give-in like all my weight was on my mother. I felt like I could finally rest. I graduate soon and I am just so excited for what God has in store. I have learned so much about Him and myself. I know it will always be a journey, but I have encountered Jesus in a way that I’m learning to trust Him. I cannot describe to you how this year has been for me, other than overwhelming in a beautiful way. God has truly shown himself to me and I believe He will continue to do that in a mighty way. Today, with all my heart, I believe that God has a plan and a purpose for everything I have been through and it is far greater than I could ask for, or even imagine.
2. New Campus Facilities
It’s 2020, and we’re celebrating in our wonderful, newly renovated Chapel! We now have a new podium and baptismal, plus new concrete stained floors, new chairs, new sound system and speakers.
Watch the video of our new classroom remodel!
Due to North Highland Church and their eagerness to serve the community, we were able to renovate our classroom by tearing down the walls to make it more open and painting the walls to make the room brighter. We were not expecting this, but North Highland also made it possible to get new desks for our students! Thank you, North Highland Church!
3. Columbus Women’s Microenterprise Expands!
At Columbus Women’s Rehab, our craft microenterprise, Divine Designs Gems, sets us apart from other Adult and Teen Challenge campuses. In 2020 we posted live sales through Facebook, which generated many new customers and raised awareness of our products. We do sell other’s hand-crafted items, but we create the jewelry and coasters, as well as package the honey! The best part—all income from purchases goes directly to the Columbus Women’s Home to help women struggling with life controlling issues. Check out all of our products available online at www.etsy.com/Shop/DivineDesignGems
"NO WARRANTY" LEGAL NOTICE: While independent outcomes studies have shown very high recovery rates for indiviuals in our programs, we cannot guarantee recovery for any particular individual. Recovery and future abstinence from addicting substances and the effects that such substances may have on the individual or their life, actions, or their future are entirely dependent on the individual and how well they apply the principles we have taught them. We are an educational institution, and how the individual in our program learns from what they are taught and modeled here, is totally up to them. Individuals who stay the full term (until graduation) have much better long-term recovery from addicitons than those who do not.
